Movietone Frocks supply clothing for film, theatre, television, pop promos, corporate events, Goodwood Revival and other retro events and museum exhibitions.
For the past twenty five years, the owners of Movietone Frocks have been building up their collection of original clothing for men, women and children, which spans the 1920's to 1970's. Emphasis has been placed on the acquisition of previously unworn garments from both Britain and the United States. Recently acquired were rails of pristine unworn tweed and gabardine 1940’s ladies suits, skirts and jackets. Likewise 1940's and 1950's satin underwear.
Each department is meticulously sectioned into decade, colour, style and size making the selection of costumes an easy job for the many regular costume designers and stylists who visit. A high degree of care and attention is given to preserving the excellent condition of the thousands of period costumes to be found at Movietone Frocks. Our staff are always happy to select outfits on behalf of the client and to assist with styling and other wardrobe needs. We are happy to provide facilities for, and assist with, fittings on the premises.
